I love this internship more and more everyday! I'm going to be really sad to leave in 4 more weeks...
July projects have included confined spaces (aircraft and non-aircraft) this is a fun project, it's all totally new for me and pretty interesting. It covers entry into spaces that are small/dangerous which may or may not require a permit and identifying them. My internship has been keeping me super busy!! All of June was consumed by the factory wide noise survey and in an airplane production facility that's alot of ground to cover. The dosimetery and data collection were the easy part - I had to submit 2 reports to the EHS department (yikes!) and recreate the final assembly factory maps for hearing protection required areas, they were about 15 years out of date. That was my big project and it ended up going really really well!

Today was the first official day of my industrial hygiene internship at Boeing and I loved it!!! My big intern project for the summer will be to conduct noise surveys along the 737 airplane production process. This means I follow the planes through their production process and measure every area that is producing high noise volumes.
