I am interning at Yellowstone Bear World in Rexburg, Idaho for the summer. My position is animal keeper. That means we start the day feeding all 42 of our bears (3 grizzlies and the rest black), 3 wolves, herd of elk, 2 buffalo, Rocky Mountain Goats, wild turkeys, deer, moose, and an entire petting zoo. Then as the park opens we give tours to the guests and tour buses and tell them about our animals and the park. We also are responsible for handeling the public bottle feedings for the six four month black bear cubs. The best part of my job is when we get one on one time to love on and cuddle with the cubs!
About Me:
I am an incoming EH senior and will be applying to veterinary school at CSU this coming October. I am interested in persuing the field of environmental veterinary medicine and working with the wildlife through conservation.
