Its been a whirlwind of a summer here at WHO headquarters...
Not as many meetings as I thought there would be. Most of the work I have done has been in the confines of a single desk and computer. Logging endless hours finding the years that the countries of the world out phased leaded gasoline. This is because a region with leaded gasoline is the best measure of exposer response for lower IQ and increased blood pressure as reflected in blood lead levels.
The next few weeks will be spent doing literature reviews for actual blood lead levels that are representative of each country of the world...yeah, kind of crazy. Once this is done, the 'Core Team' of researchers over seeing the entire project will be providing population estimates for each region and country for us to do our calculations with.
