Environmental Health Interns

A look into the lives of CSU's Current Environmental Health Interns

Out of the seven reports that are going to be finished in the next couple of week. I have made astounding progress on 5 of them by finishing, documented photographs, soils reports, multiple maps of the properties that describe (land elevations, photograph locations, existing improvements, etc), editing reports. There is a little bit more I need to learn before I have gone through everything one time. My next task that I am working on consists of editing Mineable Resource Investigation. This is a document created by a third party that went to the land an evaluated the physical setting, geology, mineable resources (uranium, natural gas, etc.), energy fuels, precious metals, and other items. My job is to read over the report they created, and add important observations into the Baseline Inventory Report. I have learned a lot about the soils, land usage, and other items that you would not be able to notice just by looking at the land. Some of the information is repetitive and some is original in the sense that it has important characteristics that add "value" to the land. Thus far; 2 of the 7 reports are near completion, and I am learning all of the steps very well. When I make further progress on the other reports, I will have a lot better idea of what I am doing. These reports need to be accurate, concise, and to the point. Dr. Kross expects me to deliver a high quality reports that meets his expectation of me. So far, everything has been going according to plan as far a what I can produce and what he expects out of me. As with any internship, it is a learning process and there will be some mistakes along the way. A huge asset that I have acquired is learning to recognize my own mistakes and figuring how to fix them without any assistance. I have total confidence in everything that I am doing, and can only hope to keep getting better.
